Southern Smokehouse Bbq - Smithfield

The staff seemed much more focused on a group of people in the corner, who I can only assume were the owners since they were frequently moving in and out of the kitchen. The hot dog bun for my daughter was stale, and the sausage was overcooked and dry, just like the pulled pork. As mentioned in other reviews, the only highlights were the baked beans and the coleslaw.

Instead, we ordered BBQ beans that tasted like they were just warmed-up canned pork and beans, and the coleslaw seemed as though the dressing hadn't properly soaked into the cabbage. The mac and cheese was disappointing as well. The BBQ and turkey we received (since you were out of the other options) were excellent, but they weren't what we were craving. This was around noon, so I find it hard to believe that such popular items would be unavailable. I was really disappointed, especially since I usually have such a positive experience here. It was surprising, given that this is one of my favorite places.

Meat dish was good, sides are okay, and the corn bread is nice...but the atmosphere is kind of dumpy and the place is like a really busy restaurant without the busy. Unfriendly staff, etc.

The first time I visited this establishment I was in love. Raved to family and friends about how the Brisket Sandwhich was the best Is ever had, and it was!!I visited today and ordered 1lb of Brisket....unfortunately it was full of fat, I did not look at the order (which I should have)...Dropped the Brisket at home with some other items and when I returned my son and husband complained about how fatty it was....they enjoyed the flavor, but I wasn't pleased that I paid almost 30 dollars for fat?The cornbread was delicious, but the Brisket made me truly upset to actually see there was more fat than actual meat to consume..

The pulled pork sandwich with delicious and the red velvet was very tasty.
