The food is wonderful; as a vegan its like food heaven with several really good vegetabels dishes as stuffed eggplant, pees puree and greens of the season. And my friends enjoyed fresh red mullet, lamb, and they all aggreed that the moussaka is the best in town and that is something in Scopelos! Two nights we heared Kostas Kalafatis and the owner Panagiotis another great bouzoukiaplayer play live... at first great greek stuff, then the Rebetiko greek blues. So full of soul. After 5 hours of beautiful music we were about to leave, and Panagiotis shouts: dont leave! now the best part comes and the hole kitchen crew came out to lissen and a harmonica joined in and other friends it was unforgettable. One of the best tavernas on the Skopelos waterfront: they really try to do something a little bit better with traditional Greek recipes e.g. instead of stuffed vines leaves they do delicious aubergine rolls. Presentation is a cut above average. Atmosphere depends really on when you go: if it is one of the music nights these are very well attended and the owner, his son, and grandson are all fine bazouki players, and Kostas one of the grand men of Rembetika often sings there.
