Kabul House Restaurant - Skokie

Great place for lunch. Their dishes are simple and yet have robust flavors. Their tea is also excellent. There are number of middle eastern food options within few miles but this is perhaps the only one that does not have fast food restaurant feel to it.

Authentic afghani food! Pros: Delicious food Nice decorations Very friendly staff Large seating spaces Clean and tidy bathrooms Lots of parking Cons: Few meats are under cooked. There is one stair inside which may not be convenient for wheelchair. Overall: highly recommended!

Fabulous! Invite yourself to a feast of taste, colors and music! Waiters are so nice and polite. The view is amazing. The restaurant is right in front of a trail with mature trees, so you can go for a walk after treating well your stomach: There are free parking spots, too.

Overall it was a good lunch. Good portion and reasonably priced. The meat (lamb) was a bit dry but the chicken was tasty. The bread was also good. Service was great and staff were very friendly. Free parking.

Can't say enough good things about my visit to Kabul House. Knew of it for decades and finally made it, will be back! Super nice staff, and the food was excellent. Flavors that popped from mantoo beef dumplings to aush soup that blew me away. Only to be topped by the kabuli Palau lamb shank with Afghan rice, rhe lamb fell off the bone and was so tender and not gamey as lamb can be. The rice had braised shredded carrots and raisins that added a surprising sweetness that balanced the savory meat. So many other menu items I want to try. Love the covered outdoor seating too.
