It is nice cozy place. Nothing too special but you can have nice pizza. If you look for simplicity and something close by it is a nice stop.
It must be really hard to run a good restaurant in a smallish town that is a 20 minute drive from a major city. So much more the praise to Tarantini which makes very good Italian food. Especially the pasta with Sicilian sausage is great. It's one of the only places I have ever come across that both serves good restaurant food and delivers take-away pizzas They close early, so keep that in mind.
Owner is Italian which already increases my expectations. However this is far from an authentic Italian restaurant. Both in terms of service and quality of food.
If you eat in, order pizzas or expect to wait forever for your dinners. We waited 45 minutes just for water !! and it was extremely hot and crowded in the small dining area. Upon arrival, we had to ask to switch tables as they had crammed us 7 adult guests into very tight back corner up against radiator and next to toilets. Appetizers arrived after an hour wait and main course an hour after that although not together. House red wine totally undrinkable as hot as gløgg, smelled of petroleum and tasted like paint thinner. Clueless waiters completely ignored us and didn’t even pick up dirty dishes, which were left on table even after dinners arrived. We had reservations, were the largest party that evening and celebrating a birthday. Will not be returning after hours of sweating on terrible dining chairs without food or drinks in sight a shame because some of the food was actually decent.
