She is so happy to see people enjoy her food. She is one a one person show. This is the restaurant you will be telling everyone about long after the trip is over. I had my picture taken with Teresa to e-mail home before I even left Italy. She makes everything at home at brings it to her tiny restaurant. Everything we ate was the best we ever had: Lasagna, pest pasta, eggplant, roast peppers, mixed salad (can you imagine saying wow about mixed salad? , and antipasto. I forget everything she brought out. And then she added the free dessert and Lemoncello. It is only too bad I don 't live here. It would be regular stop as long as Teresa could be there.
You could hardly find a more authentic Italian spot to eat fresh and home made food, than this tiny trattoria. We had been looking for this kind of restaurants other locations and it was hard to fine, cause all the spots were too touristy and un-personal. Teresa runs the restaurant and cooks, so she gives great advise on what to eat (we asked her to decide our dishes for us, and she cooked an amazing variety of vegetables and fish). The service might be a bit slow but it's worthwhile waiting. No complaints about the quality and authenticity of the food at all! On the other hand, its a bit pricy for the overall quality service. However, it's worth paying to have a real sicilian experience.
We stumbled upon this tiny ristorante in a back street not far from the sea on Ortigia, Siracusa. Teresa cooked us a fantastic lunch-no menu, just a choice of fish or meat. We chose fish, of course, as we were in Sicily! The food was fantastic and it just kept coming! It was a wonderful experience and excellent value for money. This was one of the best meals we had in our 2 month trip to Italy. Highly recommended!
We went there for having a small plate of vegetables to share. They were nothing special and the bread was from a supermarked to be baked. With two drinks each we faced a bill of 30 euros. Definitely overpriced, and we were charged 4 euros for coperto , service charge.
She has been cooking all her life... you will have the best home cooked, organic and natural food in her little trattoria that has a sign that reads Teresa's Kitchen: Cooking love for familys and friends. And she does all alone. She is your cook, server and the one who will set up her 4 or 5 plastic tables around the street, across from her kitchen along with the pots of greens and umbrellas and collect it all back at night. We happened to rent an apartment just a few steps away from her place. Thanks GOD for that. My baby, 21 year old toddler was in heaven for one week indulging the soups and fish that Teresa would cook for him every day. I really missed her place! The special soup made with special baby pasta and vegetables, the grilled fish and potatoes, the seafood salad, tiramisu... ALL! I even missed her beat up plants containers that I thought was especially disigned to be different, but when I asked, my poor Teresa said that every time cars back up, they give these plants containers new look. And most importantly: her prices are too reasonable! We never paid over 20 euros that fed me, my husband and baby and had at least 2 big bottles of beer every time. The location is on the street and there is a old church adjoined to it. There is a view to the sea cliff. Its nothing fancy, but very welcoming and deslih! Go enjoy her food and the SHOW! (she is funny too).
