One of those places that steal your heart, stole it from me for food, for the environment and for the people who run it. the menu is full of dishes with special combinations but that match perfectly. I tasted the octopus with a black sepia sponge...(the precise description now I don't remember) and it was wonderful! My friends ordered raw fish and exceeded their expectations. not to mention the quality of wine! the owners are two young boys full of passion for what they do and manage to convey it through the creation of their dishes. Congratulations!
Saw this place was #4 in Siracusa and it looked amazing in the pictures. However, it was incredibly underwhelming and poorly executed, even though the idea is interesting. First of all, the place was uncomfortably warm inside, and unlike most restaurants the toilet was missing the cover. Not a great first impression. Waiter was a little odd, maybe inexperienced told me not to pet the stray cat they feed it, so it hangs out by the door , suggested us two bottles of wine that he went in and learned were out of stock, as was most of the wine list ! , remarked oddly that we finished the bottle quickly without offering us another one, talked a lot/explained a lot, because the menu wasn 't clear as to what the items were. We ordered the raw identity which he described as their signature raw fish item. It was just a platter of raw prawns and scampi and one or two kinds of fish. Fresh and good but priced way above the same basic platter compared to other restaurants. The blue mackerel sashimi in some kind of infused light sauce was quite good, as was the bread. The main courses, however, were terrible. I ordered spaghetti with bottarga dried and shaved tuna roe , which had a very small amount of bottarga shaved on top. Otherwise it was literally just spaghetti in butter. It was 17 euro if I remember for maybe 50 cents of the actual ingredient it was supposed to be based on. Most expensive pasta with butter ever. My wife ordered sea scallops, which looked like four when it arrived, as they were buried in some kind of almond puree. But when she picked up one of the scallops, it was clear from how thin they were that the restaurant had taken two sea scallops and cut them in half, leaving four skinny little pieces. TWO scallops for a main course from a fish restaurant? Wildly overpriced and not terribly tasty either. The bill was one of the most expensive of our trip and the meal was very mediocre and a very poor value. I have no idea how this place is calculated as #4 in the city, but it is nowhere near that level. It 's an interesting place on paper they even have dry aged fish, though none was on the menu but it just isn 't very good.
One of a kind. Do not miss in Ortigia. Beautiful family run place with delicious food and great music.
Had a wonderful meal! Well prepared and served in a nice atmosphere. We had the raw+ for two and enjoyed everything from the 4 types of tatars to the lobsters Highest recommendation!
