The veal goulash tasted like meat, but very little added flavor. The rice had NO flavor. The quiche with greens in it was the most flavorless quiche I have ever had. Check my other reviews I don't make statements like that until now! The little vegetable tart had some good flavor, and the chicken tart was inoffensive. We are a friendly group all I can say is the staff must have been having a bad day. Brusque, with no warmth whatsoever. I am wondering if they somehow gamed the system to get so many good reviews.
Greeted by a very rude waiter. We ordered a coffee that was absolutely pathetic. Also asked for a sandwich that costed over 6 euros, but the we saw the waiter walk across to buy bread for it and make it behind the counter. There was no dressing, nothing worst meal I've had in Portugal. Please don't go here!
I went with friends. There was a young waiter that was rude with us from the start. She smiled cynically and despite the fact that we weren’t being rude, she basically told us to go out the restaurant and that we weren’t from that country. I’ve never felt so disrespected in my life. Never recommending this place. Not a nice way to feel welcomed.
Espaço Edla is cute little cafe on Rua Dr. Alfredo de Costa. They are open from 8am to 7pm (weekdays) and 9am to 7pm (weekends) and have a neat tea room like setup. Menu features a fairly typical range of counter pastries, sweets, cake slices along with sandwiches, toast orders along with coffee and non-coffee drinks. We had breakfast here during a recent visit to Sintra and found the coffee to be strong and very good, ham and cheese on toast was hearty and tasted very good. Slice of Mil Folhas was very sweet, nicely textured layers and overall yummy. Service was friendly and helpful as well. Overall, this was a nice little stop for breakfast during our visit to Sintra. Would gladly return to Espaço Edla during future visits.
