This stall is among the most popular in the hawker center. Be careful, as there are a couple of other fishball noodle stalls with similar names, so make sure not to confuse them. It's located right next to a Hong Kong Bakery stall. On opening days, expect long lines, with queues starting early in the morning and getting quite long on weekends. They are closed on Mondays and open around 5 AM, often selling out by 9 AM. The noodles have the perfect texture, and the sauce is just right. The fishballs are on the smaller side, which is fine by me.
This stall always has a long line, and I finally decided to give it a try. I ordered the $3 bowl, which was small but just the right size for breakfast. The noodles were perfectly cooked, and the sauce was simple, traditional, and a bit oily. I'm not usually a fan of standard fish balls, but I really enjoyed their homemade version, which was springy and not too salty.
The bowl came with a decent number of fish balls, although they were small and somewhat irregular in shape. While the fish balls were generally good quality and had a nice springy texture, they weren't particularly flavorful. The noodles were cooked to perfection, with just the right amount of bite, and were tossed in oil and chili. I also added some ketchup to suit my taste. However, the noodles had a slightly alkaline flavor. Overall, I would consider ordering this dish if there isn’t much of a queue, but if the line is long, I would likely pass on it.
Be prepared for a long wait; you might find yourself behind someone who orders ten packs! It took me around 20 minutes to get to the front of the line. The fish balls are incredibly good, although they are smaller than average. You can really taste the freshness of the fish when you bite into them. The soup is flavorful, and the sauce for the noodles, which contains fried lard, is delicious. It's no surprise that people are willing to queue up; the line was just as long when I was there. I will definitely be back—it's worth the wait and offers great value for the portion size.
