I’m a mee goreng lover and this tastes slightly different from the regular Malay style one we usually get in Singapore. It has lots of potatoes and cuttlefish, and did I also taste peanuts? The wing is without a thick coat of batter but it comes with crumbs which has so much “wokhei” and tastes a bit lemon grassy. The crumbs also go so well with the noodles. Shiok. The egg i got is fried to perfection. Cooked outside with a soft yolk. I got the them to give me some nasi lemak chilli got my chicken wing too and it’s home cooked and soooo yummy! I can buy a tub! Lots of effort folks and a v hearty fare, thumbs up!
Two thumbs up The nasi lemak with the fried chicken, fried anchovies, roasted peanuts, fried egg and sambal was super amazeballs! The fried chicken was so fragrant and succulent... And the mee goreng...just wow! Fried to perfection! Trust me... I'm a Penangite and I'm telling ya, this is the best Penang food, expertly prepared and cooked by a fellow Penangite! It felt like home away from home.... You just gotta try it to believe it! Ho chiak! Ho liao! Chiak Ho Liao!!
Very yummy fried chicken and nasi lemak, rice is really fragrant and food is prepared with lots of care and heart. But best thing about Chiak Ho Liao is the couple who run it Fran and John say hi to them when you order your food and you will know what I mean!!
Their food is truly Penang-ness. Love their Mee goreng with sotong, it is so different from other mee goreng I have tried their nasi Lemak fried chicken wing is the best... plus their special made chill
Loved the sambal that comes with the nasi lemak, brings back fond memories and the fried chicken thigh (asked for a leg but not available) is cooked to perfection, not to mention well marinated too (unlike most others where chicken smell can be quite overpowering)... only complaint is the cucumber, thinly sliced and only two slices! why like that? I love cucumbers and nasi lemak combos... pffft... lol... I'll be looking forward to try the mee goreng! one of my recommended food stall in chinatown market for sure...
