Pork belly was $25 for 150g but the short ribs were $42 for 150g which was a bit overpriced... For comparison you would be able to get A5 wagyu at this price.. and it 's wet aged (supposed to be cheaper than dry aged) Service was good as they grill the meats and cut it up for you, while ensuring that the temperature of the grill plate was optimum before grilling. For me the star of the show would be the kimchi pancake as it was crispy on the outer edge while fluffy on the inside. It 's also not oily at all and this must be the first time I 've had a Korean pancake that 's not soaked in oil... Complimentary sides included 3 types of basic banchan, salted herring roe, marinated leaves and eggplant, raw lettuce and cabbage, steamed egg as well as a mixed salad. Sides were generally okay except the steamed egg which wasn 't the fluffy type which you often get in Korean restaurants. Overall it was a good visit and I learned that there 's such a thing as Wet Aged, as I 've only heard of dry aged prior to this.
The quality of the meat here is exceptional. I highly recommend trying the aged black pork belly; its texture is wonderfully rich, and the flavor is outstanding. The beef, while good, didn't quite match up to the pork (and I'm a big beef lover!). I also appreciated the variety of wraps available to enjoy with the meat, beyond just the typical lettuce wrap. The Japchae has a hint of black pepper that sets it apart from the usual. I suggest finishing your meal with a soybean or kimchi soup—it helps cut through the richness of the meal and is the perfect way to conclude a hearty Korean BBQ experience, especially if you add some rice to it. I definitely recommend this place! Be sure to try the black pork belly.
I was fortunate to snag a table after another reservation was canceled. The food was good, though dining for a family of five came to about $180, which is a bit on the pricey side. However, the service was attentive and they assisted us with the BBQing. On the downside, the appetizers felt a bit outdated, and there wasn't much to interest the kids. There’s definitely room for improvement.
I tried their lunch sets for the first time, and I have to say, it's great value for money! I highly recommend the aged beef brisket; it's sweet and less fatty compared to our usual favorites like the aged pork belly and aged beef short ribs. The rice is fantastic—chewy with a nice bite to it. Pair it with the stew, and it's absolutely amazing! I opted for the soybean paste with beef (so flavorful, I loved it!) and the beef with radish soup, which had plenty of tender beef. The cold noodles were good too, but I think I'll skip the steamed pork belly next time since we clearly prefer the BBQ meat!
"You can tell a place is great when it's highly recommended by the locals." This is one of my go-to KBBQ spots. Although the prices are a bit higher, the quality and flavor of the meat make it worth it. The side dishes are also fantastic!
