Din Tai Fung Dǐng Tài Fēng

We visited Singapore early April 2024 stayed at the Pan Pacific with a commanding view of the Marina Bay from the 29th floor. The weather was uncomfortably hot to us but luckily we stayed indoors in the surrounding mall which was just great and cool. We happened across this restaurant called Din Tai Fung, apparently very good so we had dinner inside. We ordered drunken chicken and Sui Lung Bao. Took a hell of a long time to come. We thought they were out chasing the chicken and so will take a while. When it came at last, it was nice and tender but missing the wine flavor. Apparently they were still brewing the wine in China or somewhere. It was some US$19 for a thigh workout the bone. We had way much better in Vancouver BC. Canada Then after yet another while came the dumplings. They had an open kitchen where they made the dumplings right across our table and it had been some 45 minutes since we ordered. There were some 6 chefs working leisurely making dumplings and though the restaurant was full, for what reason we don't know, it shouldn't take six chefs 45 minutes to make 6 tiny dumplings. And I mean tiny !!!! for yet some US$16. We had better in Vancouver BC. We were still starving. We asked for some hot water, $1. !! We realize that Singapore is expensive and were prepared to spend but. ...... Come on.

Hreat food,fast service. Great for a goup or just 2 people . Many locations world wide all are wonderful

FOOD (5/5) Best soup dumpling I ever tried and had the highest quality plates which stuff me really quick. Felt most satisfied when leaving the restaurant. SERVICE (5/5) Very attentive and did their jobs VIBES (4.5/5) My family sat in a mall looking place which looks pretty but it does not reflect the Francine's of these dumplings

Overrated. If you order 1 or 2 orders of dumplings then you might be able to distinguish the taste but we ordered more than 6 orders (all different ones) so I felt that it all tasted the same after my 2nd dumpling. The oriental salad was delicious and my favorite. The fried rice was incredibly tasty, too. The duck wrap I ordered was good but I would not order it again. I was not a fan of their BBQ pork buns (all dough and barely any meat filling). Service was subpar. We were ignored for a short while. I'd pick the dim sum at the hawker centers instead.

Always nice to eat at one of my favorite restaurants that serve soup dumpling. If you are craving good Chinese food come here.
