We were in the neighborhood the day before and decided to check out the restaurants location. Good thing we did, because trying to find it in the dark if you dont know where you are going would be a bit tricky. Upon arriving it was still difficult to find the entrance, very poorly lit and unmarked. Once inside I let the host know that we had a reservation (dont try and go without one), but he seemed confused and I finally showed him my confirmation email from the restaurant. He came back after walking around looking at tables and finally offered us the table right in front of the door, near the bathrooms. I was hoping for a better table, but he said all the other tables were reserved???? Our waitresses were great and the meal lived up to expectations. The steak (2.2 lbs, the minimum order) was perfect. We ordered the filet. There was no way we could finish, so before the server took away our plates she said she would put the rest into a doggie bag . I had visions of steak and eggs for breakfast the next day. However, she never came back with the bag and even though we sat and had expressos, and finished our wine, there was no waitress or take away to be found??? So, go for the steak. If you are not a local, dont expect a great table, and wrap your leftovers in a napkin.
We were recommended this place by our hotel, and they booked a table for us. If you didn’t know this place was here you’d probably drive past it... but what a find location agritourism. The service was excellent the food local and massive portions great steaks starting at 1kg, They didn’t have a menu the day we were there a little strange) but the waiter told my wife who translated it to me as she’s Italian... thus a menu in different languages would of been helpful.. There was about 3 entree’s I recall , 2 steak dishes too vegetarian dishes and some deserts... we went for the antipasto, a massive board for the 2 of us... the I had a 1.2kg rib of beef salad a shame no chips potato dish), dessert was ice cream and also biscotti and dessert wine...great homemade beers and local wine. We will probably stay in the accommodation as well next time. They’ve 3 restaurants on site and a wine bar... Happy days will visit again but now heading home to uk.
Not only do they have the best bistecca they also serve excellent Pizza. An amazing family restaurant with great service and atmosphere I highly recommend this place
Great unpretentious restaurant in relaxed, rustic location. Rather than the usual restaurant garden, eating outside at I Due Apostoli feels like you are having a (fancy! picnic in the park. I find it particularly beautiful in the evening when you can eat outside with strings of light bulbs around, creating a very charming atmophere. I have been there 3 times (and decided to get married there! and tasted almost everything clearly top quality Chianina beef from the Tenuta's own farm (I personally love the roast beef, thinly sliced Italian style and covered in a delicious also Italian style light gravy . Home made pici are also delicious and so are the desserts (I find tortino al cioccolato irresistible even after a huge meal . Drinking highlights include tasty house wine and for beer lovers the artisanal beers are also really good (the English guests at my wedding drunk 160 liters and are still talking about it . The service is very friendly and attentive. Highly recommended.
While staying here at the B&B, spent 2 evenings eating in this pizzeria pasta restaurant. Friendly, good quality food and wines. Always local customers on site,so good sign of quality also. Try the pasta with crunchy bacon from own pigstaple...
