We decided to order their original Cubano sandwich and the Cubano Especial. The prices seemed a little high, but we felt good about supporting a local business. I really wanted to try their picadillo, which is $20, so perhaps we'll have to save that for next time. We visited on a Friday evening at 7:30 p.m. and noticed that there were plenty of empty seats, likely due to the chilly 34°F weather—nobody wants to leave the comfort of their homes in that kind of cold. This place is usually bustling during the warmer season.
Cozy, warm, and welcoming, this restaurant has plenty of seating surrounded by beautiful oil paintings and charming decor. The staff is extremely friendly, and the food is prepared fresh for every order. The Sangria is excellent—definitely a must-try, especially for fellow silver jumpers looking for a great dinner spot. Forget about the traffic, reservations, and potential disappointments—just come here instead!
The food was incredible! We visited this restaurant twice during our 8 days in the D.C. area. The owner and staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive. They provided excellent recommendations as I experienced authentic Cuban cuisine for the first time. I fell in love with the coffee and the lemonade drink the owner made for our table, which wasn't on the menu.
Delicious! It's my first Cuban food I've ever had... and it's amazing! The Plantain is so unique and tasty... the Pastelon de Carne Eloisa (Plantain ontop of Ground Beef) and File de Pollo a la Parrilla (drilled chicken) are so good! Last but not least the Mojito grande...is the MUST HAVE...
We stopped by here on our way to a show in Silver Spring and we were just amazed! First of all, friendly staff, they were very accomodating and answered whatever questions we had about the food. Of course we had to go for Mojitos for drinks. I felt they were strong, but so delicious. Food itself was awesome, I gotta say the Masitas de Puerco were on point. The plate was left clean after the fact! I thought the portions were great for the price point. Gotta love Cuban cuisine, this is one of my favorite in the DMV area.
