After we sat there for 10 minutes with a waitress continually walking past us, the girl who sat us came over, apologized and served us. All the other waitresses were busy huddling and gossiping at the waitress station. When I went and asked where the washroom was one of them tsk ed me for interrupting them and merely nodded in the direction and said over there . And then......the bathroom was DISGUSTING....filthy, only one functioning toilet.....bad, bad, bad. Horrible, horrible service. Maybe they need to hire better staff. Won 't be back.
The food is good but being blindsided with drinks not being free top up (like everywhere else in the city) spoiled the evening. We each had pop and refilled a couple times. For three of us at $3 each that really adds up. At no point did they inform us that refills were not free. I'd go again since the food was good but skip the drinks.
Shitty food and shitty service! Don't waste your time or money! As a family we have tried a few times, everytime it's the same, bland food shitty service.
Our destination was actually the restaurant about 100 meters away, but it had an hour long wait. Walked over to Rumrunner, which was about half full. There must be a reason for this, right ? Yep, there definitely was. Enough said.
If you're in Sidney on a nice day, this is definitely a good spot to go. Coming in at around 2pm on Saturday, we enjoyed tasty drinks, DELICIOUS fries (seriously. They are mindblowing , a spectacular view and all the sunshine we could get. We were wandering around the beach right by here, gathering up some seaglass and enjoying the day. After a recommendation from one of the members of our group, we decided to head over to Rumrunner. We got an awesome spot on the patio right beside the glass, as close to the ocean as you could get, and had an absolutely wonderful server. I wish I could remember her name but if you end up here, you'll know who she is; she walks around like she absolutely owns the patio and it makes you feel more like you've entered someone's home than a restaurant. Phenomenal! So, we decided to have some cocktails to celebrate the day and I ended up getting a tequila sunrise which is usually too sweet for me but this time around, the lime added the zip that it needed to tone down the syrup and unleash the tequila's flavour. Maybe something that I'll consider trying more, at different places! Okay but the real star of the visit: the fries. These fries are thick, cheesy, and delicious. They have a good amount of parmesan on each of them and have a nice fry on them; enough to give them a bit of a crunch but not enough to make you feel greasy and give you heartburn. They're also served with truffle aioli that give them the additional flavour to make them a masterpiece (I'm not being dramatic, I swear . The only issue I have with them is that there isn't quite enough aioli and we ran out before the fries were done. Once I was introduced to the aioli... I just couldn't go back. ;
