We discovered this place many years ago and every time we visit Sibiu we stop by for a real home made pie. Each time I am surprised by a new flavour. The cook is also spectacular, a granny who always smiles.

Every time we visit Sibiu we stop by our favourite granny for some delicious warm and fresh traditional plăcinte made with so much care and love!!! The variety is pretty large and the prices are very low! We...absolutely love these pies and every time we take a few for the road.

We loved loved loved the food at Placinte, located right in the middle of the old city. It was conveniently located. They have air conditioning and free Wi-Fi indoors and smoking is prohibited. Food is very reasonably priced by American standards. They have menus with...photos and English translations so it is easy to order. They have cold Ciuc beer on draft. Great soups, salads, desserts, and potato pancakes. My daughter even tried the salmon, which she said was delicious! We probably had a new (or really bad) waiter as our service was rotten. Other servers picked up the slack and helped us out. Everyone spoke passable English. I would have rated this place excellent if we had any other server in the restaurant. Give it a shot! You won't be disappointed.
