Visited for saturday night to eat i selected allotment pie, before serving i was asked if i wanted cheese on top which i thought was strange. it arrived with chips and peas, the menu said mash and seasonal veg. i was so looking forward to the pie as a vegetarian, and the pastry as it was stated as homemade. it wasnt even cooked right, it was just basically a couple new potatoes carrots onion in a vegetarian gravy with cheese on top, no pastry nothing. I've never ever seen or witnessed a pie like it, a schoolkid could do better . brother had chicken tikka but he said he doubt was homemade either, the pie defo was cos no supplier would ever ever sell that
Our choice of starter was not available we had to settle for an alternative; Our main meal took an age to arrive I noted the pasty appeared to be uncooked; we moved this aside tasted the meat we both remarked it was very salty could not eat it. We called the waitress who took the food away; she asked if we wanted anything else we declined paid the bill for the starters drinks. Very disappointed.
Food was disappointing steak come out black that burnt and very chewy told waitress and didn't even apologise it comment just looked at me blank will not return
The food was delicious, with smaller portions offered and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The Sunday lunch was fantastic, and all meals after that evening were also wonderful. There was a different chef last night, but Molly ensured that the standard remained high. Thank you to everyone, we look forward to visiting again.
