Simply fantastic, everyone has to try this gem.... well made, good food, good service and very good value for their money.

Popped in after checking what was nearest to us on the way to a night away so glad we did…. Thank you for accommodating us Fantastic lunch in a lovely pub/restaurant. Lots of choice the place felt so clean. We will be...returning making the journey for Sunday lunch next time as that menu looked great also.

Wasn't planning on going to this pub, but as we drove past the sign, we thought we would try it for a drink! Couldn't initially find it, as the pub sign was on the floor, but when we did find it, was made to feel...comfortable by the lovely lady behind the bar. We were not planning on eating, but when the food kept coming out it looked amazing! and so we decided to order. We got the brie starter, the Jacket Potato, and the Steak sandwich. Food was amazing and it is such a charming little pub! The lady who was behind the bar brought our food out and again her service was excellent. A very quaint and quiet village which is full of historic houses and a wonderful Church at the end.

Two of us visited the pub yesterday, we are both in our seventies, and the pub was completely empty. We ordered two pints from the very pleasant lady behind the bar and sat by the bar. Another lady appeared, who we later found out was...the Landlady. She approached us and said you will have to move to the other end of the pub, I’m explaining group of shooters, we replied we will move when they arrive she then said if you don’t like it, go and drink in the Wheel up the road. We finished our drink and did go to the Wheel we’re we had a lovely warm welcome. It was my second visit and last visit to The Dog, I still don’t understand why she was so rude and unfriendly towards us.

Maggie, Mark and Charlotte always ensure the highest standards in Welcome, Quality, variety and presentation. The staff all play their part in the experience. The Barnsleys were beautiful as usual and the Beef and Stilton pie delicious as we're the vegetable and chips. Just a...note to add nothing is ever too much trouble and the arrangements they made for the two very young children with us were great. Lovely, lovely family outing.
