Joey's Pizza - Ship Bottom

The food was decent, but my experience was disappointing. The website stated they were open until 10 PM, but when I arrived at 8:30 PM on a Saturday, the staff informed me they were closing soon. The only food available was a couple of random, dried-out slices of stale pizza, and there didn’t seem to be any other options.

I think it's outrageous to pay $12 for just five meatballs on a toasted roll, especially without any cheese. And a cheesesteak without cheese? That's just ridiculous—it’s literally in the name! On top of that, the staff lacks any personality; I've seen more character in a dried-up sock.

The service was friendly, the pizza was tasty, and the pasta portions were generous. The onion rings were the largest I've ever encountered! I'll definitely return. Thank you for staying open on Labor Day!

Nope. Nope. Nope. Never wanted to be back in North Jersey faster. Gave this place a shot since I didn’t feel like going down to Bay Village Pizza. Very very bland. I don’t know if it was the sauce or cheese, but there was zero flavor. Like eating an Ellio’s. Can’t speak for the rest of their dishes, but for a place called Joeys Pizza that is not the expertise.

This place used to be a favorite of mine when I’m on the island, but ever since the other location closed, the quality overall has decreased. The customer service is completely non existent. Front of house is the first impression when walking into a restaurant, so the fact that there were several people at the counter and not one person said hello, welcome, or anything was disappointing. Even the what looked to be management, said nothing and just looked through me, complaining that the rush was starting, as if it were bad to be making money. I guess that’s what happens when you hire teenagers who could care less. The girl at the counter didn’t even look at me when she finally did speak saying pick up? I mean, it couldn’t have been more rude. Every person there seemed to be bothered by having to do their job. It’s only $63 worth of food but I would appreciate just a little courtesy. The chicken parm sandwich was a huge disappointment. It wasn’t even a real chicken cutlet, they just threw some chicken tendies on a roll and called it chicken parm. Do not get! Yellow American cheese doesn’t belong on cheesesteaks or chicken steaks either. Pizza was still decent and I like the sauce, but it used to be way better at the old location. Overall I cannot say with confidence that I will be returning. The lack of hospitality is enough for me to tell others to eat elsewhere, as there are many gems on the island. Do better.
