Back Forty Texas Bbq - Shingle Springs

First time here and we just loved it. We were welcomed with a huge smile and the staff was amazing. The place isn't that big and we got there a little after they opened. Within minutes almost every seat was full. After seeing and tasting the food, I knew why. Huge portions of food and down right delicious. Lucky for us we couldn't finish our meals and were able to eat the amazing leftovers the next day. The only thing that would make this place better is if they offered alcohol.

I should have known by the name burnt ends that the meat would be a bit dry and it was. Chunks of BBQ brisket on a french roll served with pickles, red onions and lettuce on the plate with a small cup of their original BBQ sauce. For my Fixin I selected the Texas Country Fries which were pretty good. Fixin ' options were: Potato Salad, BBQ Beans, Fresh Vegetable, Green Salad, Cole Slaw, Homemade Soup, Gram?s Chili, Texas Country Fries or Mac Cheese. I asked for some hot BBQ sauce to dip the fries into and also for use on the sandwich. I thought it odd that there weren 't squeeze bottles of sauce on the table, or brought with the meal, like so many other BBQ joints. You 'll definitely want additional sauce! Server was friendly and efficient. Sandwich without beverage was $15.28 including tax. I had several glasses of water and not long after leaving I was thirsty again, salty food no doubt. I probably won 't be back to Back Forty.

Great food, reasonable prices, fast and courteous service. What's not to like?

The new owners changed the frys . Bring back the wedge frys please. Coleslaw tastes old. Shelly we miss.not as good as it used to be. The meat is still awesome.

Fantastic food and highly recommended. I forget how much I enjoy eating here. This last time I wasn't super hungry and did the lower price menu option which was smaller portions but still totally filled. I didn't realize it was sampler style on that order but was just perfect. I had the juicy brisket, chili which was great with cheese and onions, banana bread, and a little Apple crisp for dessert even. Was fantastic and I'm hungry again now just writing this and wish we were closer. Was there again tonight and some of the best food got even better. Reasonable prices and comfortable dining area.
