Massa - Shibuya-ku

The restaurant is excellent because it follows Orthodox Italian tradition. We appreciate being able to bring our own wine.

When I went to the restaurant for dinner, it reminded me of the time I had recently moved to Tokyo and visited Ebisu. Instead, I ended up at M A where I was able to enjoy a nice lunch with my family. Despite the busy crowd, we were seated at a great table in the restaurant. The chef himself, Kobe Shaf, came to our table from time to time to discuss the seasonal ingredients and everyone enjoyed the delicious and flavorful fresh pasta, which is a signature dish of the restaurant. Wow! Food and service were amazing! Chef Kobe greeted us during the meal, and thanked us when we left. It was a dream come true having watched him on Iron Chef.

One of the few if not only iron chef restaurant where the iron chef is actually in the back preparing your dinner and not just using his name. His Tagliatelle duck rague and mushroom cream sauce was absolutely amazing! It is the reason why he is the pasta king. The prices are fairly reasonable considering what you get.

For me it was a second time in Tokyo. We wanted to eat fine Italian cuisine and we went to Massa . The restaurant has a very simple, elegant and clean decor. The owner Massa is a well known Iron Chef of Italian cuisine and prepare meals by himself. He does not have a set every day same menu but every day his menu is different. He only prepare fresh and special selections. For main course that day it was fresh giant Abalone and fresh Lobster tail followed by pasta and veggies. We thoroughly enjoyed the fine meal and find wine. Their hospitality was beyond words. we are already plaining on another trip to Tokyo and Massa is number one on our list to visit again.
