Chop Steakhouse - Sherwood Park

This is a decent restaurant located within the Sandman Hotel in Sherwood Park, Edmonton. The staff was friendly, and the establishment was clean. There are plenty of seating options available. The menu isn't extensive, but there's likely something for everyone. Prices are on the higher side, but the food was good. Overall, I probably wouldn't visit unless I were staying at the hotel, but it serves its purpose while you're there.

I always have a fantastic experience at this restaurant. The place is consistently clean, the staff is friendly, and the food is consistently excellent. If you enjoy delicious steaks and fine dining, this is a must-visit. I highly recommend their Chop burger, chicken avocado BLT, and steak bites. Enjoy your meal and have a great time!

The steak was absolutely delicious, and the accompanying side dishes—mashed potatoes, vegetables, and mushrooms—were the perfect complement to the meal. Enjoying a juicy steak paired with an excellent red wine was a delightful way to end our day. To top it off, we indulged in dessert: the crème brûlée and cheesecake were both crafted to perfection! If you’re looking for a place to celebrate a special occasion or simply enjoy a great meal, this restaurant is definitely worth a visit.

A number of us chose our main courses from the dinner menu, and they did not disappoint. The steak and shrimp were both delicious. My top sirloin was cooked to perfection, with a lovely medium-rare finish. The sautéed garlic shrimp were flavorful, and the seasonal vegetables and fully loaded baked potato complemented the meal beautifully. In my opinion, the sautéed mushrooms really elevated the steak, and there were plenty of them. To finish our meal, we shared several desserts from the menu. The pineapple upside-down cake and New York cheesecake topped with seasonal fruit (Saskatoon berries) were simply delightful. Our server, Jose, was very attentive and had great recommendations for us throughout the meal.

The portion sizes for the price were disappointing. We constantly felt overlooked and had a hard time getting any server’s attention. The quality of both the food and service is crucial when dining out, and unfortunately, this place fell short. Our water glasses remained unfilled for most of the meal, leaving us without drinks. Spending $100 for two people doesn’t go far these days. I think I’ll stick to Sobeys before returning to this location.
