More importantly, it was delicious! Highway 7 is now our route to Toronto and southwestern Ontario, and fine dining is scarce. There were other good choices on the menu, and service was friendly. However, dinner is served only from Friday to Sunday, except in summer. This spot is 90 minutes west of Ottawa, and also has an electric vehicle charging station.
We have eaten at the Fall River Restaurant (about an hour west of Ottawa on Hwy 7) a few times and our most recent experience was by far the best. Under new ownership, with one of the owners the chef, we had delicious meals where the vegetables were wonderful and the fish excellent. The desserts are superb including one of the best maple infused creme caramels I've had in a very long time. Fully licensed and pleasant atmosphere.
The Greek salad and BLT wrap at this restaurant were fantastic. The staff was friendly and provided good service. Definitely worth stopping by.
What a lovely restaurant! The Fall River club sandwich was delicious and the portion was generous. Funny thing…my husband commented on the cleanliness of the bathroom. Hats off to the waitress who was very friendly and not overshadowing. There is a cozy terrace on the outside of the restaurant but the weather did not call for the outdoor experience.
The restaurant is under new management (Wednesday, August 24, 2022) . I would not go there to eat....service is very slow, food is even slower, the cook can only do one meal at a time, and the food was not good. It is a beautiful looking restaurant on the inside but that is all the credit I am able to give. My sister and I visited there on Wed. Aug. 24, 2022 and were not impressed!! Her meal arrived a good 10-15 minutes ahead of mine and we had to wait almost 5 minutes to be seated, another 5-10 minutes for our ice water and diet coke. My sister's meal was horrible, the french fries were cold and undercooked, the tomato used on her turkey club was not even ripe and just about all core. The bacon in her sandwich was not well cooked, looked very chewy and fatty, not crispy at all and the turkey looked like it came out of a package that you can buy at a grocery store. Oh yes, she had to wait almost a half hour for her lunch. When I finally got my Bacon, lettuce, tomato wrap, my bacon was the same as my sister's. Half raw, undercooked. Yes, I know that is how some people prefer their bacon, but I am NOT one of them and neither is my sister. Our waitress never came over to ask how the food was or anything else. Thankfully, because of our complaints she voided my sister's bill and took 10% off mine. Both of us should have had a free meal. The waitress did ask if we would like to speak with the owner but he was suddenly too busy to give us a few minutes of his time....what a shame....everything could have been dealt with nicely. And to top it off, the restaurant was NOT that busy!
