Costa Coffee - Shepway

Our go to coffee shop, you know what you are getting, bit expensive but good vegan selection of food and drink

This spacious Costa location has two entrances, one on Sandgate Road and the other near the shopping center. There is ample seating available both indoors and outdoors on Sandgate Road.

I visited this coffee shop last Wednesday and ordered drinks, including a bottle of water. The glass I was initially given was dirty. When I asked for a replacement, I was told it was due to the dishwasher. The second glass given to me was still dirty, though not as bad as the first one. Instead of drinking from the dirty glass, I opted to drink from the bottle. I recommend that if the dishwasher is not cleaning the crockery properly, the staff should wash the dishes by hand or provide takeaway cups to customers. This is not the first time I have been given a dirty glass at Costa Coffee and been told it's because of the dishwasher. Perhaps some additional hygiene training would be beneficial.

I didn't try the food, so I can't give a rating. However, the service was good and the coffee was as great as usual.

We were very impressed with the staff. There was an autistic chap in there today and the care and understanding they showed him in response to a price issue which obviously caused him some distress was outstanding. It was heartwarming and lovely to see.. Well done all of you..
