If you first arrive in Bistro 112, it is like huged by an old friend (in this case we were by owner Deb Tucker! even if this is your first time. Through the narrow hall that opens to enchanting and well furnished rooms where couples and friends enjoy esoteric conversations, one had the feeling that Proust was there at the corner table enjoying tea and madeleines as his aunt joined him. You feel like at home and have the easy feeling that you've been here before. This is because Bistro 112 has an ambience and comfort to be in the home and kitchen of a friend. When we came to the garden and sat at the long table with bouquets and a babbling fountain, we seemed transported to the summer banquet tables of Giverny right in the center of Sheperdstown! We wondered about the menu choices of Soupe a l'oignon gratinee (French onion soup to Ratatouille (Ratatouille with homemade pate and a selection of cheeses with raspberry compot in between. With a vegetarian farewell as well as a significant salad, we ordered the roasted vegetable crepe with a delightful Balsamic dressing-drozzle and the French pressed grilled vegetable sandwich as well as the Salade Nicoise, which is especially suitable for those who are all nutritious and delicious greens and proteins in one (as I was). I took time. How to dine in Bistro 112 is not a rushing event, but a luxuriously relaxing one. We will start for dinner with an eye on the order of the Coquille St. Jacques Scallops and Les moules (mussels before in such wonderful selections as the black French Moroccan dry backpacks (Cart , or the l'entrecote au poivre (French style grilled steak , or escalope de poulet (chicken or salmon). Only this time we will not wait long to do this, and I advise you to do the same, not to postpone the happiness ... live it, visit Bistro 112 once you can. And again. They will awaken pleasure and satisfaction.
It is always a treat to bring friends and family to our area to Bistro 112. The ambience is always relaxed and playfully gracious. The menu that we have tried in vain to work through has consistently offered a range of food and wine options that are ideal for a casual afternoon or a comfortable dinner. Service is very friendly and attentive. Recently, Courtney has treated us for a nice afternoon of food and conversation, helpful with suggestions and spot-on recommendations. I'm very happy to come back soon.
The perfect spot for Mother's Day dinner. The specials were on point with plenty for our picky party to enjoy. It was a relaxing French scene and the staff made us feel at home. We'll be back soon.
My family and I were in the area last Friday and stopped in for lunch. We loved the atmosphere our server was friendly and the food was fantastic. A place we will definitely be returning to!
Our best little side trip by far. Less than an hour from home and worth every minute. We've sampled a variety of specialties and enjoyed them all. Bistro 112 is a gem in lovely Shepardstown. And talk about dog friendly. Our Paris loves the place!
