Two tables who came in after ours got their food before we did. My fish tacos didn't come until fifty minutes after we had been there. My tacos were good but I hardly had any time to eat them because I had to go back to work at by 1pm. Our server was alright, nothing exceptional. Overall I was not impressed with our service due to the wait time. My fish tacos were great though.
My partner and I tried to call in a few sushi because the site does not work, called and instead get the normal? Hello, thank you for calling sushi dojo, how can I help you?? We have nothing. The line was silent and we heard two women about how they sent the phone so that no more customers can call and how an employee appeared in the last two weeks. Definitely not professional, at least make sure that no one is on the phone before you talk about how you sent the phone so that you would no longer receive calls or talk garbage about an employee. I understand if a place is busy, but it takes less than five minutes to explain that your business is busy and someone is in control.
We came here on the way back from Forest City and were very impressed. The food was delicious, everything came nice and had a great server. We started with the shrimp Tempoura and Calamari appetizers and I ordered the firecracker roll, the Jalapeño roll and the spicy tuna roll. My favorite was the firefighter roll, I wish I had taken a photo, but the way the fish was thrown in a stack on the California roll was incredible. The Jalapeño roll was definitely another taste profile of traditional sushi rolls, but was still really delicious, especially with shrimp sauce. I will definitely visit again when I'm in the area!
We ordered a Scallop hibachi and mahi hibachi, along with gyoza as takeout order. First, the food lasted more than an hour to be ready, and when it was time to pick up, the food was not ready yet! We waited another 20 minutes for our last article, while the 2/3 meals were packed and cold. But not a big deal. We came home and opened them, and boys are sad. Served sweet carrots, frozen veg, steamed rice, both of which looked a day old and tasted. The scallops were honestly pathetic small and the Mahi was so overdue that it was hard and hard. Again the carrots are skillful and come into a kind of glaze that does not comb with the rest of the food. The Gyoza was also hard and the skin was hard. The taste was good, but the sauces were definitely missing. Who wants to eat old rice, canned veins and hard meat for $13? Not me. Definitely not worth it. Just hold the 2nd star because I love gyoza and tasted it well despite the shy texture.
The food is good, the service is great. They are understaffed, so you will wait awhile for your food. It is worth the wait. Prices are good. Ambience is horrible. We were seated right at the entrance area. There was really loud bad hair metal music/radio station blaring at you as soon as you walk in. There are tables lined up as soon as you walk in for takeouts orders. We were seated by the door, and there was a constant beeping sound that never stopped the whole time we were there. The other side of the restaurant was better, and I would ask to sit there. Nothing ruins a good dining experience like Bon Jovi in your ear and others lined up waiting for takeout literally right beside your table. The food is very good, though. I would go back and sit away from the entrance side.
