China Red - Sheffield

One of the best Chinese I had in Britain, this is a fabulous authentic schezuhan restaurant. yes, there are many unusual dishes of pieces of animals that we would not normally eat, but there were loads that were more accessible to western tastes. everything was. freshly boiled and tasteful and came sharply pruned. are massif and therefore the restaurant is excellent. we recommend the salt and pfefferpork (wonderly crispy,) the green beans with chili and pork, the duck and wintermelone (1 times for us to eat wintermelone - the duck was very tender,) the sweet and pine nuts (simple bowl and a nice contrast to other stronger aromen,) and the steamed duck.

I found this place when they visit sheffield. eating was good with interesting food and attentive service. decor is a bit basic, but overall good value for money.

We were staying in Sheffield for the weekend and looking for somewhere to eat early evening on the Saturday. We hadn’t looked at the menu prior to entering but all found something tasty to eat, so much so that we returned the following evening to...try more dishes. The portions were huge but we still managed to eat most of it. We started with dumplings and salt and pepper ribs then pork and coriander, chicken and mushroom and shrimp in chilli. Egg fried rice, chicken fried rice and deep fried shredded potato with pepper. The shrimp in chilli was amazing as was the deep fried shredded potato. Service was good and the 11 year old with our group was given some chop sticks to take away so she could practice at home. Don’t go expecting a typical ‘British’ Chinese as you will be disappointed but definitely give it a go. It was delicious and well worth the money.

After seeing the reviews on here, my advice would be to read the menu online first before going if you're not familiar with Sichuan cuisine. Then there wouldn't be any point complaining about – goodness! – offal on a plate. Heavens!

A very authentic Chinese restaurant, menu is a little different to the usual Chinese! Food was amazing, staff were so friendly and great value for money!
