The bar stools were spacious and incredibly comfortable. For an appetizer, I ordered the mussels which were all plump and full of tasty meat, and the wine sauce was so good I could have drank it. I also tried the 40 clove chicken (I think that's what it was called) served over angel hair pasta. The chicken had a nice crunch and great flavor, with the garlic being prominent but not overpowering due to being roasted perfectly. The short rib with pasta and ricotta was also excellent. The sauce had a slight kick to it, the ricotta balanced it out, the pasta had the perfect texture, and the short rib was incredibly tender. I will definitely be coming back to try out many more dishes!
Pros: We loved the ambiance of the restaurant, and the Caesar dressing had a rich, garlicky creaminess that we enjoyed. The Wedding Soup was fantastic. I ordered a chef's special dish that was filled with seafood, and the crispy fish and shrimp were delicious. Cons: The server seemed to neglect us once we opted not to order alcohol. The bread, despite having a nice buttery flavor, resembled a regular grocery store loaf. They had run out of the usual lettuce for the Caesar salad, which was strange for a weekday dinner service. The biggest disappointment was the Fettuccine Alfredo - the noodles were simply placed on a plate and sauce was then poured over them in the center, resulting in dry outer edges. It needed more sauce, as it was lacking in flavor. Additionally, the seafood entrée I enjoyed was let down by a mild and bland pasta sauce with a lack of quantity.
We always enjoy dining at this restaurant so much that we are willing to drive an hour just to eat here! My go-to dishes are usually the lasagna and house-made loose sausage, but this time I decided to try the butternut squash ravioli special. It was absolutely delicious, especially with the sautéed sage complementing the squash. I also tried their crème brûlée for the first time and it was flawless. I highly recommend their cannolis and the meat and cheese board as well.
Muscarella's has it all! Atmosphere, a fantastic menu and great food! We found out about Muscarella's via word of mouth from a stranger in a dept. store when asking about a good restaurant to go to for a wedding anniversary. We were surprised to get arecommendation for a restaurant that is 40 miles away from us in Sharpsville Pa. We made the trip on a Thursday evening arrivingat 6pm and had to wait about 10 minutes for a table to be ready as they were all occupied. Tip... when we left at 7 pm, about1/3 of the tables were available so arriving a little after 6 might get you in with less or no waiting. My wife had theMuscarella's Pasta Trio and I had the Sirloin Tips Asiago Gnocchi. Both meals were outstanding! The Sirloin tips were supertender and cooked to perfection. The Pasta trio was delicious! We also had a cup of Wedding soup along with our meals, try ityou will like it. So.... Did we like Muscarella's? Absolutely! It is on the top of our favorite Restaurant list!
