Cardinal Cafe - Sharbot Lake

We were looking for gluten-free options, as advertised, but they had nothing to offer so that we starved. call them to make sure they have gf if they want to.

We had a delicious breakfast at this restaurant with freshly brewed coffee. The breakfast menu is a bit limited, but I thoroughly enjoyed my croissant with speck and egg.

Last weekend we had the luck to find the cardinal caffe on our journey from ottawa to toronto. the day after an unusually destructive storm (in this area shocked), which had only a few hours before flowed again, had the staff in this rustic cafe...in sharbot lake opened their doors (on Sunday) and served hungry tourist and native without missing a hit! the storm on the day before had trees and water pipes left over large areas down. traveling were hard pressed to find places that were open (poor) and serve to eat. it was also more busy since it was the Sunday of a long weekend. Despite the very long line at their door, the personal of cardinal caffe was efficient in preparing hot breakfast sandwiches and coffees and tees to a very high standard. my man and I enjoyed our delicious breakfast sandwiches, latté and london fog. the staff was pleasant and relaxed despite the unusually large and hungry morning. it was impressive to see how her team of about six people smiled all the time during an unusual situation! next time we make our drive between toronto and ottawa, we will turn on a second help! kudos to the cardinal café team!

What a nice little cafe! we liked the converted church environment. the personal was great and helped us to decide from the menu what to have at breakfast. I had a waffle-breaker sandwich-dup. not sure, the real name of it, but it was speck. and i between 2 Belgium waffeln and maple syrup to dive. yummy! he had a croissant breakfast sandwich. it was grilled or something. it was the best he ever had! I had an icy latte that was also super good. we loved our breakfast so much that we went back a second day for the same! it was very good, but only a little expensive. not expensive enough to keep us away! a must visit place when they are in sharbot lake!

Great space, great staff, great coffee and great doughnuts. Indoor seating unavailable because of COVID but outdoor seating was possible.
