Przekaż informację zwrotnąAnother fail. We walked across from the main Azotea restaurant on their guidance to try our hand on so-called quality tapas. We had wanted to eat a certain fish that was highlighted in the daily menu, but quite curiously, that option was sold out by the time we arrived at 9 PM. Curious because most Spaniards don’t begin their meals until at least one hour later. To say La Tienda underperformed would be an understatement. Not one of our three overpriced tapas was good. The papas alinas was merely a glorified potato salad with a chunk of canned mackerel on top. We remarked to the server that we had plenty of canned mackerel at home, and figured a seafood restaurant in Spain selling pricey tapas would have the ingenuity to add something local AND fresh instead. She disagreed. Also at €4.50, the saquitos brick were so small, a mouse would have been frustrated. And finally, the €6 Carrillada Iber (braised Iberian pork cheek) triggered a Pavlovian-response of nausea. Its sauce was as thick as mud. It was a quick €15 down the drain necessitating another visit to a different restaurant to both satisfy our hunger and remove the bad taste.
We 've visited La Tienda on a previous visit to Seville, and was on our list of places to revisit. Creative cooking and worth leaving the more touristy centre (just a few minutes walk). We noticed that the more 'formal ' restaurant (Azotea) opposite seems to have exactly the same menu...
Before we left on our trip I used a map to check out restaurants, and their menus; La Tienda de Azotea was one of the places that was high on my list. It was just at the other end of Alameda de Hércules from where we were staying, and the menu looked really good. There are actually two restaurants across the street from each other, well, more like one and a half; La Tienda, where we ate, and Azotea. It was a quiet Sunday night while we were there, and we received excellent attention from the staff. We started with a couple glasses of Andalucían white wine while we decided what to eat. We had a good time watching the staff ferry food back and forth across the street as well, as the fresh fish and meat was in a glass case behind us, and it appeared the kitchen was at Azotea. We each started with a cup of Gazpacho, which was very good; cold and flavorful. I had a beef filet, which was cooked perfectly for my taste, and was delicous, while my partner had a chicken cesar salad that was very much to her liking, especially the parmesan chips. We were both quite full, so we ended up not having dessert this night. This was a great way to start our visit to Sevilla, in a casual, relaxed atmosphere, with excellent food. I highly recommend it.

Excelente a todos los niveles. En particular señalar que hacia tiempo que no disfrutaba un solomillo tan bueno y tan bien cocinado. Delicioso
