Bellissimo rifugio, facilmente accessibile dalla Croce di montagna Comelico. Servizio rapido e cordiale, piatti abbondanti e ben presentati. Ottimo goulash di cervo!
When I went down the mountain I was throwing, and my wife had suppe very well made home. the prices were good for such a facility and service was great.
The location is absolutely stunning with superb views to Croda Rossa and all Sextener Alps. The place is very rustical and also a bit run down. Table were made in wood but not refined and scratching. Toilets were just basic and cleaning seemed a kind...of option for the management. Otti the owner is very intrusive, talks very loud and enforces your choice with his special recommendations. Food was on the same level: good portion but very rustical style with mixed strong flavours and too spicy. The maccaroni Nemes was the best of the full lunch for three people. It 's more expensive than similar locations nearby and watch out Otti does not accept credit cards and he did not issued a regular bill (ricevuta fiscale or fattura) and that happened with all our individual bills. Be forewarned.
I arrived in this hut with friends after a short walk in the snow on january. The walk was fantastic and the view from this place (at 1950 mt above the sea) was breathless. The mountains all around were full covered with pure with snow...and at that highness there are not so many trees so the view was able to space for miles. Because we arrived at lunch time we had to wait just a bit to have a seat (i think about twenty minutes). The wait was because the hut is small but very frequented also on winter. After my positive experience I must admit that we do not wait so much after all. Inside the rooms were very comfortable and warm and the staff served us immediately. There was also a stube that warm the enviroment and gave the tipical alpine touch to the place. The rooms are decorated with a lot of photographs, trophies and other things. The two owners (Mr Otti and Mrs Klara) were very gentle helpfull and nice. The food are tipical of such zone: soups with knodels, goulash and some specialities like baked potatoes with spek and eggs (very good and tasty). The dishes are very well cooked and homemade with fresh ingredients. The taste was very good. They have some daily dishes so you can try something new every time. The sweets are incredibles. Try the strudel with apples. Homemade and delicious. The portions are generous and the prices are fair (me and my wife paid about 15€ each and we eat a lot). I think that beer could be more good but was not bad. My coke had a temperature a little bit to hot. Prices for drinks are just a bit too expensive. Toilets are clean. I hope I will come back on summer.
