Don't be fooled by the website, which dates from nearly 2 years ago before the place was relocated to tiny and dowdy premises round the corner. Friends of ours recommended it when it was on Lord Street now it isn't, and frankly is overpriced (being the same price as the Randolph in Oxford for afternoon tea) with indifferent food and drink. You can get a much better afternoon tea experience for half the price at any half decent garden centre (Dobbies in Southport for example). Don't know what has changed, but really, really, don't go there! The only reason we went was because we had been sent a gift voucher which had to be spent there otherwise we would have walked straight on by
So, I have a small....wait....large obsession with tearooms/ afternoon teas and Lillibets is my idea of absolute heaven. A small, yet perfect cake lovers dream on Lord Street. Everything, literally, everything is handmade, even the jam. The service is welcoming, knowledgable and professional. The tea is the kind of tea that brings you back to life and the cakes like small pieces of fine art ! I cannot wait to return and will be dreaming of this little cake wonderland in my sleep until our next visit. Thanks Lillibet and team !
Visited Lilibets for coffee and a toasted teacake part way through our shopping morning. Loved it so much that we popped back for a delicious lunch for Mum's birthday. Delicious soup and sandwich followed by beautiful pastries (complete with a candle for Mum's birthday!! Lovely touch thank you. S Very friendly service and an excellent choice of beautifully prepared food. Would highly recommend.
An excellent afternoon tea, all freshly made and showing the touch of a fabulous pastry chef. Sandwiches were very high quality followed by cakes of the highest standard. The ambience is very pleasant but the eating area very small. A little too intimate with your fellow diners I would say. Thats the only reason it drops a star the afternoon tea was really top notch.
