However, since other takeaways in the area were closed, we decided to give it a try. As a family of 6, we were pleasantly surprised by the delicious and generously portioned meals. We even had enough leftovers for lunch the next day. Our order included 6 different main dishes, 3 types of rice, and a couple of sides, which came to £70 - slightly pricier than our usual local Chinese food. The only downside was that the curry we ordered was quite mild and lacked flavor. Despite this, we would not hesitate to dine here again if we were in Cheddar.
My family and I recently ordered a takeaway from this restaurant and unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience. This wasn't the first time we've been let down by this place, so I felt compelled to write this review. We were all gathered together for a rare Saturday night meal, expecting a treat, but the food fell far short of our expectations. The half crispy aromatic duck was extremely dry, with very little meat and a few bones left in the box. The cucumber slices were thin and sparse, taking up most of the space in the container, and there was hardly any spring onion. The pancakes were left without anything to fill them. The sweet and sour pork was chewy and coated in a pink sauce with no pineapple or pepper slices. The chicken satay was missing chicken, leaving only vegetables in a bland peanut sauce. The egg fried rice lacked egg and looked unappetizingly brown. It's a real shame that the quality of this restaurant has declined so much, as it used to be quite good. Given the current cost of living crisis, it's important for local businesses to maintain high standards in order to keep their customers satisfied. Unfortunately, I will need some convincing to give this place another try in the future.
Fancied a takeaway one evening during our holiday the chinese was round the corner from the cottage. Sweet sour chicken balls great size, loads in the bag and cooked really nicely. My daughter thought they were yummy. Egg fried rice nice tasty, even my daughter (who is picky with what she eats enjoyed it. Mushroom Chow Mein was alright, my wife said if it had more beansprouts it would have been a 5 star review (but she is very picky as she cooks this dish at home! Mixed veg in sate sauce nice tasty The chips were pretty good too, previous chinese takeaways we have been to they have always been a bit hit miss but not these ones. I'd recommend this takeaway. The food was quickly cooked and there is loads left over we've probably got enough for 2 meals tomorrow lunch as well :
We were staying nearby and placed a large delivery order on a Saturday night. Delivery started at 8:30pm and was prompt. I was contacted when the food left so I could meet the delivery person at reception. The food arrived hot, was delicious, and nothing was left over. The service was lovely.
I really don't like leaving bad reviews but felt I needed to. We are new to the village and thought we would get a takeaway delivered for a family treat. We were left waiting for 30mins over there time given (that wasn't really an issue thought it might be worth the wait) I was mistaken chill crip beef was burnt it was enable to eat and the chicken chow-mein was horrible and dry with mushrooms in it(more mushrooms than chicken.they also got are order wrong, even though they did read it back to us. So sorry to say we will never eat their again which is a great shame.
