The Wobbly Canoe - Sechelt

Update 2023: Deep fryer no longer dedicated GF. Falafel no longer made in house and the ones they're buying have a "may contain wheat" warning. Original review: Have had good safe food with no reactions here, but do be careful and ask questions. I had them check the gochugang chili paste they use to make their crispy fried Brussels dipping sauce and it wasn't celiac safe. I was surprised when the staff told me that something with gochugang was gluten free cause I've sure never found it safe in the store so I'm glad I double checked. But their fryer is GF so that's nice.

My favourite restaurant on the Sunshine Coast! Their deep fryer is GF (be sure to ask first, I always re-confirm). The bahn-mi on a lettuce wrap is AMAZING. The cod bites are also really good. Definitely recommend. We’re celiac and have never gotten sick here!

I had a lettuce wrapped bacon cheddar burger with FRIES!!! Only GF items get fried there, so it’s dedicated! They were shoestrings fries, such a nice treat! My celiac son ordered the chicken strips which he really didn’t like. They were breaded in some rice panko style stuff over chicken thighs. I thought they tasted decent, but not the most kid friendly even though it was on the kid menu. He of course LOVED his fries too!! The staff was super knowledgeable. Most of their menu is GF although not labelled as such.

Very friendly staff, understand celiac, excellent food. Dedicated fryer is a huge plus.

Delicious and fresh. Service was great. Restaurant staff was very accomodating and well aware of celiac.
