Umi Sake House - Seattle

We mainly ordered from the fresh menu and were extremely satisfied. The sushi was probably the best I have ever tasted - it was simply fantastic and melted in my mouth. The rolls were quite large, so be mindful when ordering. The atmosphere was pleasant and despite it being busy, we felt well taken care of. Sitting at the sushi counter and watching the chefs prepare plate after plate was a cool experience.

Our overall dining experience was good, although we were slightly disappointed that the food did not meet our high expectations based on other reviews. Despite not having a reservation, we were seated relatively quickly in the popular and spacious restaurant. The service was excellent and efficient. The nigiri we ordered was average, with the octopus being difficult to chew. The shrimp tempura wrapped in fried noodles did not taste as good as it looked and was best eaten hot. Our favorite dish turned out to be the savory Dynamite Bake.

I really enjoy this restaurant for its late hours and late night happy hour menu from ten to eleven. They offer a great selection of affordable small plates and drinks. I have been there twice and had a great experience sitting at the bar both times. The service is fast and friendly and the food is delicious. The only downside is the strong smell of chemical cleaning solution when you walk in, which is quite off-putting. It would be great if they could address this issue.

I was really impressed. The sushi was delicious and the meat. Service was really good, the ambiance of the place was very nice. Very nice for a date and the value is good too. Happy hour is the best!

This is THE sushi spot for amazing sushi, drinks, and a fantastic atmosphere. The sushi is similar quality to Japonessa, but the cocktails and awesome wait staff put this place just a step above. Great for large parties as well, as long as you make a reservation. Decent street parking and paid lots nearby.
