Back in september, I just moved into the neighbourhood and came to an early dinner with my gf. the server was a bit loud and talked about me and.
The service was terrible. we showed up when they opened and 2 groups that came after us who were eating before us
I must say, the restaurant's hours are unpredictable. Today is Thursday at 12:30 and it is closed again. This has happened multiple times before. I live in the same building and often find it closed during its supposed opening hours. I'm not sure what's going on. I have been coming here for years, and it has been hit or miss. It could be due to the pandemic, so no hard feelings. They have recently updated their menu too. It's not a bad place, just not my favorite. However, I recently had a nice birthday dinner there. The waitress was friendly, and the fried donuts for dessert were delicious. I need to explore more of the new menu to see if there have been significant changes. I particularly recommend trying the raspberry mussels!
The Lodge has definitely suffered during the COVID period and has not been able to bounce back. The service is lackluster and the food is just average. The steak salad I ordered had only 4 small pieces of steak and was more like a side dish than a main meal. It was definitely not worth the $18.50 price tag. I left feeling hungry. The chicken club sandwich barely had any chicken in it and was mostly bread. The burger, which I ordered medium rare, was well-cooked. However, all of these dishes were served in a way that they could easily be sent back to the kitchen. I used to be a fan of The Lodge's atmosphere and food and drink options for many years, but after my last few visits, I doubt I will be returning.
