I ordered the lamb and beef shawarma sandwich for $10 and a side of tzatziki for $2, which I wasn't informed about beforehand. It’s a shame to leave a negative review for a place that could use the support, but if Main Street Gyros ever had its moment, those days seem long gone. I had high hopes of discovering a local gem during my trip to Seattle, but the food simply didn’t meet my expectations. Honestly, you’d be better off grabbing a pre-made sandwich from Starbucks. To make matters worse, I was charged $2 for the tzatziki without being given the option to decline. While businesses can set their own prices, it would have been nice to have the choice. That charge accounted for 20% of the cost of a rather unimpressive gyro. To top it all off, I ordered a gyro but ended up with shawarma. What a letdown! Would I return? Honestly, I’d rather not even walk by it.
I ordered a chicken shawarma and while I was waiting for my order, the worker dropped his large spoon on the floor and then picked it up and used it directly on the meat and vegetables. I was shocked and said, "Hey, what are you doing? You need to wash that!" He replied, "We don’t have any shawarma!" The employee wasn’t wearing gloves and was handling everything with his bare hands. This was the most disgusting place I have ever visited in Seattle, and I’m surprised the health department hasn't shut it down.
Place is so dirty, staff is so rude and feed us garbage I ordered chicken shawarma and waited for him to make my order, he dropped him his big spoon on the floor and literally picked it up and put it back up there directly in touched with meat and other vegetables. I protested: hey man what are you doing? You have too wash it! He was like: we don 't have shawarma!!!!The guy working there not wearing gloves and with those hands touched everything things. Most disgusting place I ever visited in Seattle I 'm surprised why USDI not shutting it down.
Gyro plate was okay, but needs a little more balance than just heavy meat, hummus, and yogurt. Some veggies would make it a lot better.
