The bread was dry and was some cheap bread out of the grocery store, the croutons on the Caesar salad came out of box, the lamb in the vindaloo curry was tough and grisly. The staff was all dressed in shirts and slacks, the maitre’d greets you in an Adidas TShirt. Very tacky. We hope this restaurant irons out these details and improves over time as this has been our favorite local spot for over 20 years. Next time we will stick with some of the stand by dishes that have held on from when this was Szmania’s.
This is our neighborhood restaurant that has new ownership. They kept a number of popular dishes, and added some Indian dishes, which we love. Service was very good, and it was fun to try some of the new items on the menu. We will return to try some other new dishes.
Very good food. It is expensive so I would suggest probably going there to celebrate this special occasion. The service was impeccable. Our server, Brian was very friendly and offered suggestions for other things to do while in Charleston.
The newest version of the restaurant in this space (first it was Szmania's, then Rogo's) is the best yet. I especially like the addition of Indian food.
The food was pretty good. On a Monday night the restaurant, under new owners, was quiet, with only a few table occupied. The server was very sweet, not particularly attentive. It took an hour to bring the enormous appetizer plates; nothing until then. Main course portions were more normal. Maybe they'll get the service issues solved as they settle in.
