I personally had the cold smoke primary rib (I think it was called) so tender and could be cut with butterknife! Very tasty too. My husband has the Filet-Mignot just for dying! He was obsessed about it and I took a little bite to try and was a little jealous how good he was! Anyway, very good experience and the waitress was very attentive and nice. I tried her onion rings and would pass them on in the future. They were not super crispy and seasonal was not consistent and tasted Bland, but was happy to try it!
My darling? Steakhouse everywhere. Just came back to the city and ate again here after more than a decade, and they didn't skip a beat. A great meal.
The food was great. We made up to eat half the cow and this place delivered with a 32 oz porterhouse, which was pre-cut and perfectly cooked. Usually I would not want a precut steak, but this time I make an exception because cutting would have been a pain, especially with all the other food / dishes on the table. It also shared much easier. There is an option for you to come with food? Oscar Prep? and the description for it sounds much better than what you actually get. I might expect some crab legs and asparagus on the huge steak. What actually came out was the smallest part of the crab with a pile of asparagus on a side plate. Would recommend it. I took all 1.5 bits. The Brussel shoots were also hit and measured. The portion was big and the spits tasted great. But again the description in the menu was misleading. There should be anchovies and jalapeños and capers with them, but we did not find any of these things there. Maybe they were so small that they were buried under the mountain of Brussels, either we found none of these things in the pile.
Wonderful flavor, never thought of having a crabcake Benedict on brioche. The horseradish grated on the ribeye provided a beautifully full flavor. Would definitely come back.
This was a top notch dinner! Everything from the super friendly service to the amazing food was just perfect. If I could give it more stars than 5 I would! Our waitress was super friendly, she really made us feel welcome. Service was quick and frequent, we never felt like we weren't being taken care of. We started with the French onion soup and a starter Caesar salad, plus cocktails from the bar. The cocktails were great and reasonably priced, soup and salad arrived fast and were totally up to par. A second round of appetizers brought sauteed mushrooms and steak bites. Those steak bites that sauce they were served in was superb.. Everyone at the table ordered steak for dinner. Our steaks were super flavorful, and the ribeye was so tender. The cowboy spice rub was a fantastic addition, even if the roasted jalapeno was HOT! Also, try the sourdough! I could eat the sourdough all day! We all agreed that this was a wonderful neighborhood find, and I'll definitely be back!
