Tonight, we finally had the chance to dine at Hong Kong Seafood and Young, and we were pleased that we did. We were seated at a window table and ordered some tea and Tsingtao beer. Our waiter returned to take our order and offered some helpful suggestions. Our meal started with the most delicious salt and pepper squid I have ever tasted. They resembled pork, were light and crispy, and packed with flavor from the hot paprika and salt. I couldn't get enough of them, and they reminded me of spicy seafood popcorn, perfect for munching during a movie. We also tried the spicy hot pepper chicken, which our waiter jokingly asked if we wanted extra spicy. I agreed, but I don't think he took us seriously because the dish wasn't as spicy as the squid.
We love going to this restaurant on Saturday mornings. Everything is fresh and delicious. If you see their egg tarts in the display case, make sure to grab a couple because they sell out quickly. They are the best egg tarts in the city, with a fluffy crust and a deliciously sweet silky texture.
