We sat at the bar which overlooks the open kitchen, this was such a fun experience! You can see how dedicated the chefs are and you can see how they put intentionality and care for each ingredient they plate. So fun to see them plate, prepare, and cook.Service was superb! We had a lovely waiter! It is the best place! Just go there!
After living in Seattle for a few years, I have found my favorite restaurant. From the staff, to the interior, to the food, everything was how I wished it to be. Made me extremely comfortable.I randomly picked out a few dishes to split with my friend , and let me just say, I have no suggestions for improvements. It was perfect. My friend thought the lamb could use less salt, but it all comes down to personal preference. For tonight we had the top three spreads, the lettuce buttermilk salad, and the lamb entree.110/100 (10 additional points for having Homer as the coaster logo)Will come back again.
Took my sister to Homer for our first restaurant visit during her stay. Homer did Seattle proud. We started with a a small plate of anchovies with harissa butter and grilled sourdough and added a salad with buttermilk, shaved vegetables, herbs and almonds. This set the tone for what would be a superb dinner full of bold flavors and textures for an overall impressive meal. Our large plates were grilled pork with rhubarb tzatziki, green garlic, turnips, hazelnuts and lime leaf. The roasted black cod with mushroom mousse (more like a foam but I’m not complaining), pickled mistake, ikura and burnt kale oil was equally lip smacking good. We also order a side of crispy basmati rice cake. The pork was well seasoned and succulent. The fish was a showcase of skill with wafer crisp skin and moist, flavorful flesh. We spent the entire meal trying to figure out how they pulled it off. The basmati rice cake had the texture of a dense cracker or chicharron a perfect accompaniment. Wish I could tell you that there was one plate that was a standout. The only reason I can’t is because we thought every morsel we put in our mouth was extraordinary! Don’t miss this place if you have out of town guests you want to impress. The menu is very vegetable forward, so there’s something for everyone. Oh, yes, great specialty cocktails too!
Food and service here is something else!We had a course meal for a party of 6. Everything from the appetizers to the main dishes were impeccable. My favorites were the dips with pita bread, grilled beets, roasted chicken and dessert. From cocktail, I ordered a mezcal mixed drink, which was served really well. They don't take reservations for less than 6 people, so make sure to arrive a bit early to make the line before it opens at 5pm. It usually gets full immediately.
You think you have had good mediterranean food. And then you come try this place and everything seems like a lie. I had heard about Homer a lot and finally tried it. Expect an hour wait for your table on weekends. We got the best seat in the house on the bar by the kitchen. You can see the masters at work right in front of you the chefs, the griller, the baker and the head chef at the pass. The menu is concise which is usually a hint that everything is gonna be good. We got the hibiscus water, house shrub soda, the lamb entree, hummus with cumin and pita bread, the apple, ham and ricotta salad and a raspberry x coconut soft serve. The drinks were unlike anything we’ve had. House shrub soda is highly recommended. It was sour and refreshing. The hummus was delectable and the pita was piping hot and fresh out of the oven. I never knew apple and ham could taste like it did in the salad. The lamb was cooked to perfection the beans and salad that accompanied the entree reminded me of the dishes my mom used to make with eggplant. It was spectacular. This is one of the best restaurants in Seattle. Look no further.
