Gim Wah - Seattle

My partner and I recently moved to Magnolia and wanted to explore the local dining options. We decided to try Gim Wah next, and it turned out to be a big mistake. We ordered takeout and ended up waiting for about 10 minutes after arriving at the restaurant. Once we got home just 5 minutes later, the food was barely warm. Everything felt stale, and the only dish I could manage to eat was the fried rice, which was still quite disappointing. After our meal, both my partner and I felt unwell, and my partner even became ill afterward. If you’re considering dining at Gim Wah, I would strongly advise against it. Just skip it altogether.

First, let’s be clear: this is NOT a high-end boutique Chinese restaurant. It’s a classic American-style Chinese eatery, and they excel at what they do. Be sure to try the Oyster Sauce Beef, Gim Wah Chicken, and Almond Chicken. While it may not be Michelin-starred cuisine, enjoy another Gin and Tonic and order some Chicken Chop Suey—you'll love it!

The food is very impressive and the drinks are strong and well-crafted. The bar and bartenders are excellent. It's an old-school place, truly a gem. Gim Wah is simply the best!

Food was drowning in cooking oil, the dining room smells of pee and mildew.I've heard the bar is okay (no personal experience) but this dining experience was...... something.Oh yeah, we also saw dead cockroaches in the entrance.I recommend eating here so you can see what I'm talking about.
