Ciudad - Seattle

I had not heard of Cuidad before so it was a delightful surprise to discover my newest favorite restaurant. The atmosphere is funky, casual, service competent and friendly and the food was amazing.

This was my second time here— this time for a special anniversary dinner. It’s pricey, so not the place for an everyday date night. We spent $130 before tip for two people. Food was delicious, as expected! So were the drinks. The service was… weird. The server was a bit awkward (totally fine, who isn’t? and spoke so quietly that it was nearly impossible to hear her. She gave us an overview of the family-style nature of the menu, but didn’t offer guidance on number of dishes until we asked. We placed our order, asked if that seemed like the right amount of food, and she said yes. Then the food started coming out and she came by and said, “Wow, you guys have a lot of salad dishes!” We hadn’t realized when ordering that the beets were served with greens, so yes, two of our dishes were salad. I wish she had pointed that out BEFORE we finalized our order— and then what a strange thing to say after the fact! We also had to flag her down to ask about more drinks and dessert, and she had taken both our menus away so ordering those things was a multi-step process.

This quaint Mediterranean restaurant has the feel of a Mexican cantina. The food is both visual and palette pleasing. The labneh highlights almost every dish and the flavors, spices and peppers are intensely satisfying.

We stumbled onto this restaurant and it was wonderful. All three plates we ordered were fresh and delicious.

We celebrated our friend's birthday here it was amazing! Food was fresh and full of flavor. Once we were finished and full, we wanted to order everything again. Our server was super helpful and gave us some great suggestions for food and drink. Highly recommend!!
