Przekaż informację zwrotnąWe drive over to Scottsville from Charlottesville just to get this BBQ- the pork and chicken are so tender and cooked to perfection! The sides are awesome, not that you need them with the portion size, but the cornbread is succulent enough to save some room...Everyone there makes you feel right home and welcome in The Bend family!
Got a couple of pulled pork sandwiches for my husband today and they were straight up banging good…not gonna lie, I probably ate more of his lunch than I should have while driving to his work but, no regrets. The owner was very friendly and helpful, even when my card decided to not be helpful, or useful, or even function in anyway that a card should, but he was very patient and tolerant of all my questions. (Clearly, I’m a talker But the food was absolutely amazing and my husband and i are both planning to go back and try the brisket next. Rock on, BBQ peeps! ??
My husband and I tried this yesterday for the first time. We were both excited as we both love BBQ. Unfortunately we both ended up tossing a good bit of our meals. We both got the pulled pork platter. Our BBQ looked completely different. His was a grayish color and had zero seasoning. Mine was dark and had tons of pepper. It almost looked liked they ran out of the seasoned BBQ and just gave him what they could find. The Mac and Cheese lacked flavor and was very dry. We got our order to go, and they put my husbands bread on top of his collards, so it was soaking wet. Just overall not a great experience. The white sauce was good, so if you do try it, I would recommend that over the vinegar sauce. We will not return.
Deserves negative stars but can't review without putting at least one star. My family and I went to this establishment yesterday. I don't know who was cooking the food in the other reviews, but the guy that cooked ours had no clue how to BBQ. My husband does awesome pulled pork, chicken, and a brisket to die for. He does NOT put 2 cups of pepper in any of it, thank goodness. I didn't eat but a bite or two because of all of the pepper in the chicken and the lack of seasoning in the Mac and the rawness of the collards. The six of us tasted nothing but pepper for rest of the day. We will NEVER return. Also, the camera made it obvious we were being watched. It was obvious to us when the cook used loosely) came out after two of us had closed our containers and gave up eating and asked what we thought. He did not like our thoughts. He doesn't take criticism well at all. You should always be open to customers thoughts in the food service industry. Also, it was obvious that he did not taste his food, or does not have taste buds. My husband asked him if he tasted any of the food that he served us and he said yes. There is no way we would have served anything that looked like what we were served much less the way it tasted. The collards were an embarrassment to southern cooks. They were barely blanched. They tasted like a raw leaf off a tree. Then just a boiled piece of onion. No other flavor. No ham hocks, bacon, fat back, nothing! For some reason, he puts his rub in the chicken and pulled pork after it is cooked and in the plate. It is also in the way undercooked pasta salad and the cole slaw. It was a plate of pepper.
This in response to the 1 star review:That group broke the Golden Rule Treat others as you like to be treated Especially during this time, it is not a good rule to breakIt was a group of 6 that came in. They treated the young woman that rang them up so rudely that she retreated into the kitchen, and wouldn't check on them because they made her feel uncomfortable (until she told them goodbye when they left). So the cook came out to ask how everything was (because as a company we don't appreciate when customers treat our staff bad especially when they did nothing wrong He gave a direct response to each question that was asked, because you know the golden rule.It seemed like they came in with a preconceived notion that all BBQ is the same. Without asking if we follow any type of style. Even though we have some inspiration from different regions we are completely different from any othersThe cook gave the ratio of 1 batch of dry rub 3, 2, 1, 1, (where the 2 cups of pepper comes in) That batch covers 4 briskets, 6 pork butts and 40 lbs of chicken. With thier assumptions about the cook not tasting anything, he does and so does the young lady that they were rude to.
