It was okay until it started to have a really bad smell of it that we couldn't eat it anymore. The group had a salad, the steak and drinks that totaled over $300. Too expensive for a sports bar! I wish they had told us the price before, learned our lesson.
? BUYER BEWARE?, we are absolutely finished with this place. We were tricked by the new shield hanging over the building, but again I left a very bitter taste in my mouth. Once we were there, we talked to Doug who is the owner, and I thanked him for his 21-year-old service in our military. His enthusiasm for his new adventure sound very charming to turn it into a sports bar. He expressed that he really worked on his menu and made more things affordable, like his $10 bland no seasonal hamburgers, just a simple burger on the bungalow, no cheese, no salad, no tomatoes, no onion. We ordered an old fashion with Buffalo Trace (I can buy a bottle of it for $25), we saw it put ice into our glasses and then the ice that turns into small fragments and irrigates our drink. It was bad enough that he is the owner, but really did not know how to make an old fashion, duh! What really upset us? After we've been asking for instructions, cutlery and our bill. We were very surprised that tiny little one? Drinking that was $15, we were charged another fee of four dollars for Buffalo track, that is a bunch of Buffalo $rap. As I said, this was our fourth time to try a new beginning, and not even he ever made the other three visits corrected, I reminded him why we have been back. We're done. Stop!
Stats show that my reviews have been read 330,000 times. And in all my reviews I believe I have awarded five stars perhaps four times. So when I give this place five stars it's because I really want you to try it! So, the owner is a (very proud) Veteran turned businessman in the food service industry. He is a hard working guy with great ideas on the customer experience. He also owns a local butcher shop and this is his source for these grass fed USDA Prime cuts. You see that Prime! His price for a nice piece of prime is ten dollars below all the nearby steak houses charge for Choice! And their meats come from the back of a Sysco truck, which is not the case at the Bourbon Cellar. And with his connections this includes fresh fish. And this is a scratch kitchen, which is common enough in the greater Phoenix area that I don't know why anyone would go out to a serious dinner anywhere but a scratch kitchen. Nice bar with a few high tops. Nice patio areas with a water feature. The place is clearly geared for people to enjoy outdoor dining. No I still don't like non chain restaurants being located in strip malls, but I have to accept this is the norm in the area. But it also means you can find a parking space, and do some walking around, maybe get some chores done. Staff are exceptional, tell Autumn hello for me. She is clearly a disciple of the place and sings its praises with great eloquence. Just walk inside and inhale the kitchen scents will drive you to order something. Bring an apatite because this is not a place that sends you home hungry. Even something simple like a lunchtime Ruben will feed a family. Go for it!
Every bite was great had the pork ribs appetizer and bourbon Mac and cheese appy both amazing finally a place in Scottsdale that can make a good rib! Burger was big and juicy. Highly recommend
I was happy about this place. Food, service, atmosphere. Absolutely loved the **** Mary mix they use. The place was immaculate, open and artistic. Plan it to a regular place in the area.
