I have loved Thai food for a long time, but I will not revisit Simply Thai Kitchen. The Spicy Jungle was a complete miss. Horrible! The sauce on the dish was not sauce, it was just hot oil way too much of it. The food was literally swimming in hot oil. The dish was not well seasoned, it just tasted like hot oil. While the beef, green peppers and bamboo shoots were nicely cooked (but oily and not seasoned), the death of the dish was the eggplant. There was lots of eggplant, but it was way undercooked and actually dry. There was none of the silky texture I have come to love about Asian eggplant. It was a bit tough and hard to bite through and chew. It even looked wrong, so the cook MUST have known that it wasn't properly prepared, and just didn't care.I was so disappointed, especially given the rather high price tag. I don't generally give 1 star reviews, but this food was unnecessarily bad. If there was a zero, I would have used it.
The interior of this space is about as bland and homemade looking as it gets.Just get some decent furniture, people. My in-laws think this place is fabulous, my husband and I just thought it was okay. Mussaman curry is supposed to have peanuts, it says that on the menu. I got a runny curry with no peanuts and gigantic hunks of potato. it just was fair at best. My husband had the fried catfish and that, also, was just passable. Saturday night at 6 p.m. and we are the only people in the restaurant. Not a great sign.
I may have found my go to Thai joint in Scottsdale. I ordered the yellow curry with chicken and the pad see ei with tofu. Both dishes were delicious, there were so much flavor. Highly recommend!
Very small Thai place at the end of a strip mall that does a fair take out business for a weekday. Generic appearing restaurant with few booths (needing to be recovered) and several long rows of tables. Not a get dressed up for dinner kind of place. Nothing screams Thai here. The food however, was quite good. Thai dumplings and a yellow curry with chicken. Overall, good but not a place I would recommend to friends and family.
Food was pretty good nothing amazing though. If I was eating just for food I would give them a 4/5, however, the wait time was quite long. The place was not too busy with only one other family. Now while I understand that they only have 2 chefs working on meals, I believe that the wait time was ridiculously long. We had to wait for over an hour for our food to arrive. The food itself like I had previously mentioned was quite good. The tofu pieces were soft and well cooked. Server was kind and did give free refills. I would suggest ordering take out or delivery early rather then dining in if you would like to eat here. Overall it’s a decent restaurant if you don’t mind the wait.
