S V Urban Italian - Scottsdale

It was somewhat pricey, but every bit of it was absolutely worth it. The food was delicious and the drinks were fantastic!

We returned to the restaurant a year later and had a terrible experience. Our visit the previous year had left us eager to come back, but now we realize we should have just left it at that.

On this occasion, we attempted to use a gift card we purchased during our initial visit seven months ago on our last trip to Arizona. After enjoying our wonderful meal (which was fantastic), we faced issues when it came time to settle the bill. After sending our check back for corrections (no one enjoys being charged for items they didn’t order), it felt like we were stuck in a comedy routine. We presented our gift card, which had been purchased from them, and then watched as staff members walked in circles for 20 minutes trying to determine the balance and how to process it. Eventually, the owner—who had introduced herself during our last visit—approached us to explain that they were having issues with the gift card due to a system change. She returned the gift card, but the balance shown didn’t match what it should’ve been. When I questioned her about this discrepancy, she claimed the system reflected a prior transaction of $14, which was all she could see from our previous visits (oddly enough, since we had only dined there twice before, and $14 would barely cover an appetizer). She took our information and promised to follow up, but to this day, we haven’t heard back. Given this situation, I would advise looking for a more reputable establishment that offers exceptional food along with excellent service. It’s unfortunate because we truly loved their zeppoles, which are phenomenal, but we will most likely not return.

Been to S&V several times. The last 2 were disappointing. Charcuterie board was uninteresting and this time the gnocchi dish was not great. For $22 it was a small shallow bowl with quite mushy gnocchi, the creamy truffle sauce broke after a few minutes and was a puddle of butter. The chicken was dry going on jerky and had the taste of microwaved chicken. The service was very good and they replaced the chicken, it was obviously from a different dish they serve and was overly marinated in garlic. It was better but not great. I have had better dishes here. Service is always good and atmosphere is nice.

Loved everything about this restaurant. Highly recommend the Milan's with Salmon. The limoncello was so refreshing too. Our service was also really good.
