We were here for four nights in March, while in the city some Spring Training Baseball games to see. The resort is a 15-minute drive to Salt River Fields where the D-Backs play. The grounds and pools of the resort were exceptionally well maintained and clean. Our 11-year-old loved the water slides (ok, me too) and the family pool. There are many pools to choose; one for 18 , one with white sandy beach, and one with two hot tubs. We were very impressed by the culinary experiences especially at Ironwood Kitchen and Toro, which serve both breakfast, lunch and dinner. Austin in Ironwood Kitchen and Brent and Don in Toro were amazing. We couldn't get reservations at La Hacienda or Bourbon Steak until 8:30, which didn't work for our family. Recommended booking far in advance. There is a Starbucks coffee shop inside the Sundry shop that is fantastic. We did not love our room to look at the garden level on a parking lot. Many brown tones and the bathroom was a little dated, but otherwise it was clean and comfortable. Make sure to book a room on a higher floor for golf course or pool views. The Casitas also looked amazing and it was worth checking out. We'll be back.
My wife and I celebrated my birthday in Fairmont Princess Scottsdale. The concierge was fantastic and helped several dinner reservations and various day trips weeks before our arrival. The only problem we had was the unseasonal cold weather (but the pools were supposed to be all heated to 84 degrees and we could see the steam coming from the water). We had a bad culinary experience at the Bourbon Steak restaurant (which was completely refunded by the manager, but it had us with a bad experience when we try to have a birthday dinner. We left hunger and annoyed). Everything else on Fairmont was exceptional, including all staff, waiters, valets, room service and concierges. We would highly recommend this accommodation.
Fairmont Scottsdale Princess was beautiful. The staff was very friendly. The restaurants were all excellent. There were several pools, fire pits and seating areas throughout the resort. I would highly recommend this accommodation.
Its a very nice property and the rooms in the far building were great. Suites with extra large bathrooms, a long hallway, sofa and balcony. i did see more traditional rooms that would not have been as appealing. we traveled and stayed for a conference with roughly 800 other attendees. the property can accommodate the large number well... EXCEPT... first and foremost... for a high end luxury hotel, their fitness and workout facility was on par with a residence inn in the middle of nowhere. we arrived at 6am, prior to the meetings and it was completely full with nowhere to move. unfortunate this was only about 20 people total. its entirely too small for the property size. They had few machines and a small set of dumbbells as well as 5-6 treadmills and precors. it was embarrassingly small. the second issue was that of the bars/restaurants on the property. at one point, there were about 50 people at the main courtyard bar. it took over 20 minutes to get 1 drink. lastly, on one of the only nice days we were there...they had closed 2 of the 3 pools unexpectedly for the entire day. that was sad. aside from those little issues, if you're willing to pay the then its a great place to stay. good food, make sure you get the more spacious rooms.
