Barker Tavern - SCITUATE

Needs a facelift! time for this once great place to take on a new persona. time to upgrade.

So so sad this restaurant just closed... only functions....hope they change their mind and at least open the pub side.

My parents came in for dinner over the weekend. My mom has Alzheimers so my dad typically brings a bottle of non alcoholic wine so she doesn't feel left out from a fun dinner out with friends. This has never been a problem at any restaurant they have ever gone to. Not only was the server incredibly rude to my dad stating that there was no way she would be giving him a wine glass but then the manager was just as rude. While there probably is a law that prohibits a patron from bringing their own beverage into an establishment, there is absolutely no reason for the server and the manager to be rude. They could have been empathetic, understanding, kind and still said no and that would have been understandable. Kindness is free. Not only will they never be returning to this restaurant but I will be telling all of our family and friends this story. It's an absolute disgrace. Whoever owns this restaurant, please get your staff some training on customer service. It's desperately needed.

The best swordfish Eva! Love sitting in the back Tavern area and always enjoy the swordfish broiled with yummy mashed potatoes and asparagus. Our waiter Tim was excellent in every way! A

Food and service are fantastic! Pub and dining rooms are amazing, and staff are always knowledgeable about the food and wines. It's one of our favorites!
