The rolling mill in Schwetzingen is located near the Schwetzinger Schloss. The new car park also offers parking nearby. There is the possibility to sit outside in good weather or just inside. The decoration in the rolling mill is something unusual, but we liked it very well. There are skateboards and mountain bikes or motorcycles. Anyone interested in Super, for others it is also worth a visit! The food is super tasty and the service is very friendly. We'll eat there!
The Rollwerk Café in Schwetzingen is located in the city centre directly at the Schlossplatz with access to the tram and near the railway station. It is comfortable by train and then about 500 meters walk. I had dinner with colleagues in December. Outside there were some tables and chairs covered with parasols. But since it was too cold, we decided to eat something inside. One comes first through a brown wooden door into a small front area, which in turn is bounded with a brown wooden door. Just through is the counter with the door to the kitchen. On the left and straight side are the seats for the guests. These are held in white leather. On the walls they consist of benches and in the middle area of chairs. The tables are large wooden tables. Immediately after we set ourselves, a waitress arrived and accepted our drink order. This order came directly after a short time. Until we could order the dishes, she left some time, but after a waiting period of approx. We could place this order for 20 minutes. I chose a Bitterlemon and the Classic Cheeseburger with Pommes. The cheeseburger is well sorted, with cucumbers, tomatoes, cheese, salad and naturally meat. The burger was really great and there was nothing to complain about. The size of the part was also very good and was completely sufficient to me. The waitress was polite, but hardly said anything, but only by looking at the next one in the round asked to give up the bride. The whole thing was good, I paid a total of €14.70.
The rolling mill is new in the Schwetzinger Bermuda triangle and is located at the place of the former “Café Journal”, whose owner had previously thrown the towel. According to information in the menu and in the press, the “Walzwerk” is the realization of a new gastro concept, allegedly an earlier dream of Marcus Walz from Hockenheim, who is more known as designers of wild looking custom bikes (but with international reputation and customers such as B. Pitt, S. Vettel etc.). There are only four or five salads. The interior is quite cool, stylish, modern, so not made nostalgic on 50s or the Texas pitch rebuilt. They sit on dark tables, on cream-white leather cushions. Gediegene Noblesse. Flat screens hanging on the wall, on which uninterrupted DMAXX runs. And then some front noses of smaller racing cars hang on the wall, and there are two or three older motorcycles in the room, as well as near the entrance of one of the wheels of the roll. The service was friendly and accommodating, but a simple salad and the Death Valley Burger lasted more than half an hour. Apparently the oven was on the Furnace Creek Ranch straight. The salad was a good standard, even the burger. The paddle was slightly dry, but tastefully good and overall OK. As announced on the map, the meat comes unmarried to the burgers, you need to taste salt and pepper yourself. The extra-sharp Jalapenos announced in the map were strangely the same inserted little ones I get in the Kattus glass at Rewe, so nothing special and not extra-sharp. From the equipment you could say: a Royal TS with Jalapenos – but with meat from Angus Rind and much bigger. And with election supplement (Fries, Wedges or Salad, together for 9,90 EUR. The waltz is certainly an enrichment for Schwetzingen, and it seems that events and concerts are also planned (which was previously in the Cafe Journal, and you can go there.
Great setting across road from Schwetzingen Palace, with cobbled outside dining. On our visit to this Cafe it was very quiet with only 6 guest tables in use & yet it was over quarter of an hour to be given menus.Staff reasonably friendly, however not a smile to be seen during our visit. We ordered beer, coffee & nachos.Beer was as expected in Germany, great, coffee was very weak a not very nice. Nachos was disappointing, bland with not much thought out into its preparation.Friends live locally & surprised at our experience as normally good service & food.
