Buffet food is best early. the lunch buffet opens at 11.30 a.m. (doormark), which is grill...big, as they can choose their own ingredients and it is freshly cooked. they can choose their favorite sauce and cook once, the meal is brought to their table. we can really recommend this restaurant if it doesn't matter to them to spend the extra few euro. .
Taipan is an all they eat Chinese buffet restaurant. they help themselves, suppen, salad, a series of netzen with rice and noodles, and sweets. okay, but its mass-filled, and the selection was not as good as my last visit a few years ago. The restaurant table is a huge being within a modern industrial unit, but they have done a good job to create something ambiente with the decor. overall ok for a business or fast lunch, but not a destination restaurant!
The restaurant is located a little out of the way, unless you work for Samsung or Nokia nearby. Relatively few parking spots for the grand scale of the buffet hall. The restaurant is a fine setting for entertaining, especially in scale but somehow it lacked...something in the atmosphere. There was a vast selection of pre cooked foods as well as food that can be taken to a chef to be stir fried for your specific tastes. Prices were very reasonable and the food was above average quality, though no exceptional. importantly the food was authentically prepared, which is a rarity in Germany for Chinese/Mongolian food.
I went in this restaurant a wednesday evening for a business dinner (we were around 30 people). The restaurant is incredibly big, many many tables are available; there is also a private room (this one, big as a normal restaurant). The dinner was including a...buffet, where it was possible to choose among several vegetables, then rice, noodles, fried things, spring rolls, pechinese duck, and other chinese-style things. There was also a small buffer for sushi. But wasn't it a thai restaurant? Then there was a section for grill: you could fill your plate with different kind of meat or fish and leave it to the grill area, then the waitress will bring it to you cooked. Anyway, despite (or due to) the wide choice, the quality was not so good. At least, not for someone who spend a lot of time in China (where restaurant from all over Asia are present).
It’s a all you can eat meal very good for birthdays
